No Presents For Christmas - Except for this one!

Here it is, in all its rotten glory. Enjoy! Who knows, it might be your last Christmas anyway so make this one count, you pinheads.

LYRICS:

On your way home for Christmas
I'm robbing you blind
You are in a hurry
I've got nothing but time

The stores are all busy
About to close, it's late
Stuffing my pockets
With whatever I can take

To summon the holy spirits
From the bottom of the tube

'Cause all I want for Christmas is glue
All I want for Christmas is glue
All I want for Christmas is glue
Crazy glue
White glue
Red glue
Sparkly glue
Glue made of horse teeth
Glue made of babies and puppies
'Cause all I want for Christmas is glue
All I want for Christmas

My heart's in so many pieces
It might mend with glue
Another Christmas huffing
Is what I wanna do

Sirens through your neighborhood
Turkey's getting cold
Daddy won't be home tonight
And the prison bunks are full

So hang up your pretty stockings
I've been dreading it for weeks
But I feel it in my gut
Knowing it has to be done
Another Christmas rut

Smash another window
To get in from the cold
Start a living room fire
It never gets old

We'll all be dead soon anyway
So pass the bag around
I'll inhale a little longer
Make sure this Christmas is heaven bound

'Cause all I want for Christmas is glue
All I want for Christmas is glue

And of course: Haust's christmas song from the split record (Stooges cover only available on the vinyl!)

LYRICS:

There will be no christmas this year
There will be no christmas anywhere

There will be no ghost of christmas present
And there will be no fucking christmas presents

There will be no christmas

We'll celebrate the dark, lazy winter
We'll celebrate it right here in our filthy bed
We'll sleep together
We'll rock together
We'll sing together
There'll be no fucking christmas!

There will be no christmas

No jesus christ
No santa claus
No christmas tree
Just you and me

There will be no christmas this year
There will be no christmas anywhere.

Black Hole X-mas - OUT NOW!

The Ultimate X-mas feelbad record from the cold north! Exclusive tracks from both bands + a Stooges cover by Haust. Limited green vinyl. This year it's not the Grinch, but the misantropic noisepunks Haust and Okkultokrati who steal Christmas and give it to the kids of the black hole. This is a celebration of the darkest part of the year and the dizzy subliminal effect of mulled wine, carnations and poinsettas. Three songs, two originals and a cover, about being ugly, unfortunate and under-informed. A hymn to the less unfortunate, the deviants and the perverts, its for anyone who's ever felt mislead by the stars and alienated in a crib surrounded by animals. Recorded at the Black Hole by Pål Bredrup and Ruben Willem of Okkultokrati/Haust. Artwork by Esben S. Titland.

Track Listing

Side A:

  1. Haust - No Christmas
  2. Haust - No Fun

HAUST/OKKULTOKRATI - 7" split out soon!

So the cat is out of the filthy, stinking Christmas bag. Yes, Haust and Okkultokrati are releasing a Christmas single. The darkest holiday of them all deserves a fitting anthem. So in the tradition of the Ramones, King Diamond and Poison Idea and many other greats, Fysisk Format will release the very special "Black Hole X-mas" seven inch single this November 25th. Cover and design by comic book artist Esben S. Titland (who also did the cover for Haust's "Ride the Relapse" CD).

Vebjørn from HAUST had this to say about it:

This year it's not the grinch, but the misantropic noisepunks Haust and Okkultokrati who steals christmas. "No Jesus Christ / No Santa Claus / No Christmas tree / Just you and me" No fun. No mosh. No trends. No core. No Christmas. Or maybe "No Christmas, No fun" as the songtitles say. Anyway. If you're looking for fun, you've come to the wrong place. Welcome to the blackest woods of Norway, and the blackest christmas ever. Even blacker then in Bob Clark's 1974 classic slasher. This 7" is for the kids of the black hole. It's for the deviants and the perverts. For the freaks, faggots, drunks and junkies. It's for everyone who feels alienated by this tradition and want something else. Something real. It's for you and me.

Limited OKKULTOKRATI 7" now available!

OUT NOW!: The third issue of the Hellebou Magazine comes with a 7-inch single that features a brand new exclusive OKKULTOKRATI track that was recorded in the cold days between christmas and new years eve last winter. It's a bit on the heavier side, drawing on some Sabbath/Burning Witch type of songwriting processed through the Okkulto-grinder. B-side is occupied by Norwegian author/poet MATHIAS SAMUELSEN. Only limited to 300 copies, so don't sleep on this one pilgrims!

It was cold. It took us two days to heat up the thick timber walls. The water in the big plastic barrels, left behind by the cabin's last residents, did not melt during our stay. The ice was too thick. Our neighbor dug out a trail in the snow, so that we would not have to wade through it. None of us dared to sleep alone at night. It was too cold. It was too dark. Outside, the moon was reflected in the white and untouched snow. We stayed inside. It was the time of the year when the days were at their shortest. We were in a cabin, in the forest, in Telemark.

So describes Inger Wold Lund our very first winter residence, which took place during winter solstice. After three days in front of the fireplace, we were faced with four musicians from Oslo: Black Qvisling, Black Race, Le Ghast and Verminscum, otherwise known as Okkultokrati. They had been invited to the cabin for these particularly dark nights. Our living room turned into a music studio, and the cabin turned out to be too small. During summer we could have gone swimming in Lake Follsjø, or settled down in the woodshed for the night, but now we all wanted to stay inside. The cabin resonated with the rhythms of a distorted guitar, as some of us returned to the city. Later that winter, Katla (Jonas Ib. Jensen, Mathijs van Geest and Ånond Versto) rented a car. They drove from their studio in Bergen, over the Haukeli Mountains, to Hellebu, Helleberg, Telemark. Once again the timber walls needed heating, as Katla gathered material for their first artist book. One rainy weekend in June, when the days were at their longest, the cabin had one last visitor, writer Mathias Samuelsen. His stay in the cabin resulted in a reading. These are the makers of this year's Hellebou.

Hellebou is founded by Ellen Henriette Suhrke and Johanne Birkeland. Together they uphold a year-round artist residence, and maintain the cabin. Hellebou Vol. 3 was produced between December 2010 and September 2011.

You can buy it here:

(We'll also have a few copies up in the Ormeyngel shop for anybody outside Norway who might want one soon).

Ormeyngel update

Ormeyngel is slowly spreading. First up; the Ormeyngel Bandcamp is now up and running with all the recent releases collected in one place: http://ormeyngel.bandcamp.com/

The big news of course being that the entire BLACKEST WOODS tape is now available for free stream and download. A few copies are still left before it disappears into oblivion so get right on that here.

The WHITE JUICE tape is a little delayed but will be here eventually. It will certainly be worth the wait.
In the meanwhile, feast your eyes on this video of the recent WJ show at Last Train (shot by Kai Mauseth).

The seeds have been planted. Now feel the darkness grow.

Okkultokrati/Årabrot: Split LP - OUT NOW

Out right now! Two bands, brothers from different mothers sharing one release for the monumental first time. 7 songs in 32 minutes total. Recorded over two weekends this spring
in the Årabrot studios in Oslo with Stian Skagen recording and lurking in the wings. Årabrot do 4 totally possessed by evil punked out rock-hits while Okkultokrati has one short blaster, one sludgy banger and one monotonous whacked-out opus magnum closer up their sleeve.

Topics covered on this one: egomania, mental illness, sloganeering, being a slave, being a slaver and being God.

The release features staggering painted artwork on both outer and inner cover by Sebastian Rusten (too busy walking the 14 day trip to Jotunheimen to read this update). Glaciers, mushrooms and northern darkness all over.

Printed in 500 copies. 100 on clear red vinyl, the rest on ace of spades black. No CD version, no streaming, no download, no fun! (although a shitty rip leaked to the internet already, so I'm sure we'll share the songs here for free once the record has sold out just to kill that rip dead).

Copies are only sold in Norway so far. But will be available to the rest of the world from Cargo soon.

The strange trend of perplexing precipitation continues this week as Norway is blanketed in a purple haze of cyclamen snow. The source of the snow is still being speculated on, but the answer as to what it really is has shocked scientists as samples after the first snow drifts are being analyzed. Of course strange colored snow has hit Norway before, but never in the way this most recent fall has.

Possible explanations have ranged from an ecological disaster of unknown origin to a supernatural origin. As with any out of the ordinary weather occurrence, many people take such incidents as indicators of the end of the world. Of course given the prevalence of bizarre weather conditions, it's hard to say if any one of them are the final harbinger of doom. For example, in September of 2009, Oslo turned red from a mysterious haze that blocked out the sun and turned the sky the color of blood. Several who woke up were confused and thought surely the apocalypse had come. Of course it was soon found that the city had been entirely obfuscated by a dust storm which whipped around them and caused delays as the dust storm descended, choking several citizens into wearing scarves or bandanas around their faces and leaving several planes grounded for hours. And speaking of Norway, several fish fell from the sky in Rjukan mere days ago, once again setting a trend for bizarre and unexplainable precipitation. Of course this newest one promises to take on a whole new level of weirdness as scientists scramble for an explanation.

So it is through the lens of previous strange rainfalls in recent months that we take a look at this most recent snowfall. When people awoke on March ninth in Southern Norway, they discovered that the outside was completely covered in a thick flakey purple snow that had piled up on cars, roofs, city streets, and trees. After an initial moment of trepidation they went outside to investigate how widespread the snowfall was, and discovered that it was not merely in patches on certain areas, but rather covering vast areas, sometimes with only purple snow visible. Of course it wasn't just a deep purple, but also faded and lighter in some areas, while brown in others. The brown snow is indicative of what the source is according to several scientists who have posited that it comes from a dust storm.

Climatologists have taken samples and studied the snowfall, and have concluded that the snow itself is as safe as other snow, but it's still not recommended to consume as it contains large quantities of dust which may or may not be healthy to consume. But where did purple dust come from? And how did it end up in Norway. According to climatologists, the source was likely a massive dust devil, or tornado which pulled purple dust and sand from Africa's Stavropol beaches. As the dust was pulled into the upper atmosphere by the forces, it eventually settled into clouds and was carried aloft by wind before sprinkling down over Norway.

WHITE JUICE - First show

Tuesday the 12th of July at Last Train, Oslo. WHITE JUICE (dudes from Okkultokrati, Haust and Blackest Woods) will be performing live and in the flesh. Topics of discussion during the live barrage of sonic punk anthems will be: stealing shit, breaking shit, sliding on car hoods, smoking weed and watching TV, running from the cops and working for the man.

Crash and burn, and burn some more.
